Ealing Area Guide

Ealing is a major district of West London and the name Ealing is thought to be derived from the Saxon word of “Gillingas” meaning place of the people associated with Gilla.  Over the centuries this changed to “Illing”, “Gilling”, and “Ylling” until eventually becoming Ealing.

Ealing is probably best known for Ealing Film Studios which are the oldest in the world and produced the world famous Ealing comedies.  These included The LadyKillers and The Lavender Hill Mob and more recently Notting Hill, films.

Transport wise, Ealing is in a fantastic position with both tube and overground stations and will be one of the stations serviced by Crosslink (not yet open).
